Parents & Friends
Get involved in the school community
The P&F is a valued and important part of PVIS, who’s main role is to provide social cohesion within the school community.
Everyone is welcome!
The P&F operates as an inclusive, supportive and cooperative group where everyone’s contributions whether large or small are recognised and appreciated.
Anyone in our school community is welcome to join the P&F’s meetings, and activities.
The P&F is supported and overseen by the Principal, and other key staff as needed.
Participating in the P&F is a great way to contribute to the school and a fantastic way to get to know other parents.

Monthly Meetings
The P&F meets at least monthly to:
- Support PVIS school events & activities, such as fortnightly sausage sizzles, athletics day, and working bees.
- Organise social events. Highlights are the P&F Quiz Night, Big Sale, Family Movie Nights, and other family activities.
- Organise school merchandise such as the calendar, t-towels etc.
- Help classroom information flow with Parent Class Coordinators who volunteer at the start of the year and participate in the P&F.
Annually the P&F works out a schedule of activities and events to work on per term.
Small, inclusive groups maybe set up to work on projects outside of the monthly meetings.
At monthly meetings, the Principal gives a report to the P&F about school activities and Board decisions.
Small groups report back on their progress and the P&F plans term activities.

Sausage Sizzles
The P&F is much loved by students for holding fortnightly Friday Sausage Sizzles – and this is a really easy and fun way to contribute.
Parents from each class are responsible for holding at least one “Sizzle” which a small group from the P&F supports.

Join the official PVIS P&F Facebook Group
This PVIS Facebook forum is a positive way for the P&F to share information & coordinate activities.
Content includes information about the P&F’s activities & events, such as meeting notices & minutes, small group notices, class updates, events, questions, suggestions etc.
All members are invited to post information, ideas, events to do with PVIS.
It’s a respectful forum for problem solving, support, inclusion and cooperation.
NOTE: This is a private “closed” Facebook group that is open to all current PVIS parents, as well as teachers and staff. PVIS students are not eligible to be members.
