Providing Reading and Access to Information

Port Vila International School’s Library and Information Centre is integral to the school community and to the experience of learning for students and teachers. It supports the teaching and learning program of the school and assists our students and teachers in becoming effective finders and users of information.
The Library program also emphasizes the value of reading for pleasure and the appreciation and enjoyment of literature. A strong “reading for pleasure” culture exists at PVIS which is encouraged with individual reader guidance offered to students.
The library collection accommodates all students from Little Learners to Year 10. In 2016 a “non-fiction for younger readers” section has been added which is very popular.
The library is a bright and welcoming environment staffed by skilled, committed and caring professionals.
Library Hours: The library is open each school morning, between 7 and 7.30am for students to browse, return and borrow.
At second break the Library is open to all students for reading and games.
