Tammy teaches TAS from Year 7 to 10.
What we do
The aim of TAS in Years 7–8 is to develop students’ ability to design, produce and evaluate quality solutions that respond to identified opportunities and needs. It enables students to justify solutions and to responsibly, safely and creatively use and select materials, tools and techniques.
Students in Year 7 and 8 are learning the culinary skills needed to create food items to share with others. They are increasing their knowledge of basic food hygiene and cooking safety and then applying this within a practical setting. The focus for the Year 7 technology programme is “Food of the World” and in Year 8 they are learning recipes that they will replicate when they host their family members at “Café PVIS”.
As the semester progresses both year levels will continue to use the design procedure that they are now familiar with to successfully produce products using a range of technology mediums.
