Providing English language support

At PVIS we have students from all over the world, such as France, Vietnam, China, Mauritius, Nepal, New Caledonia, Argentina, and Tahiti to mention but a few.
EAL learners are learners of English as an additional language. EAL learners speak languages other than standard English as their first language and bring rich and diverse linguistic and cultural knowledges from these to the classroom and our school.
All EAL learners are given the opportunity to learn standard English in order to access the curriculum and participate actively in learning. The students require specific kinds of instruction to enable them to reach their full potential as independent learners.
These lessons for secondary students are conducted in small groups and are charged in addition to term fees. All students enrolled in PVIS must have a basic written, spoken and aural command of English.
